| Sr. Consultant - Merchandise Planning & Inventory Management
The Merchandise Planning and Inventory Management group is a core area of KSA’s Growth & Profitability Practice (G&P). The Growth and Profitability Practice is focused on helping general merchandise and consumer product retailers and suppliers create profitable growth. Projects are typically focused in the following areas: corporate and business strategy, mergers and acquisition planning and integration, consumer insights, brand positioning and growth, merchandising, planning, inventory management and product development. We serve clients in all our target industries from offices in Atlanta, New York and San Francisco.
Position Overview
The practice has an immediate need for Sr. Consultants with experience with projects involving merchandise assortment and financial planning, inventory management and optimization, replenishment and allocation. Sr. Consultants work collaboratively with clients to design and implement world-class merchandise management solutions. These solutions involve process definition and design, dynamic organizational and roles alignment and technology advancement. Using well honed analytical, conceptual, creative, and interpersonal skills, Sr. Consultants help to identify and analyze strategic and tactical issues facing clients. In addition, Sr. Consultants assist with development and delivery of financial and market analysis and process review and design.
Candidate Qualifications
- Relevant Master’s degree with 1-2 plus years of progressive experience in merchandise planning and inventory management including process design and implementation, organizing roles and responsibility and implementing planning and merchandising systems in a retail or supplier setting. Prior consulting experience a plus.
- OR Bachelor’s degree in relevant field plus 3-5 years of progressive merchandise planning and inventory experience as described above including relevant, internal consulting experience.
- Demonstrated communication, presentation, facilitation and negotiation skills.
- Keen problem-solving skills, ability to break down issues and business processes into logical components and ability to address sub-issues in a coordinated manner.
- Ability to develop creative solutions to client problems based on analysis.
- Demonstrated passion and energy for serving clients, professionalism and personal resilience.
- Ability to work in the U.S. with unlimited work authorization and unrestricted ability to travel internationally.
Location & Travel
Sr. Consultants in Growth & Profitability Practice will be located in KSA’s Atlanta and New York. Client work is conducted both in KSA offices and on client sites. The nature of our business requires travel to national and international client locations. Depending on the specific project and client needs, travel of 2-4 days per week may be expected.
