Catalogs are not going away any time soon, and they will be everywhere this holiday season. As Kurt Salmon’s Micahel Dart, a senior partner and director in the firm’s Private Equity practice, told BloombergBusinessweek, when it comes to browsing, or looking for inspiration, catalogs outdo the Web—especially for people who like particular stores or brands. In fact, more than half of online shoppers surveyed by the firm said they browse catalogs, and almost a third of those making an Internet purchase have a catalog in hand when they purchase items online.
