With the battle for retail market share getting increasingly fierce, success cannot be had by playing catch-up, Kurt Salmon's Arnold Aronson told Women's Wear Daily. “What makes the winners are people who are not obsessed with what’s happening today, but who are more obsessed with what they are going to do to innovate,” Aronson said. “They have to be looking forward, proactively, at all of the developments that are happening in the social environment, what’s happening to people in their needs and wants, what’s happening in technology.”
