Holiday sales forecasts are starting to sound like a broken record, with a cautiously optimistic forecast echoing once again in national projections for this year’s season. “We have not yet fully escaped the economic challenge that we experienced even four or five years ago,” Madison Riley, managing partner of Kurt Salmon’s North America Retail and Consumer Group, told The Boston Globe. “The economy is still improving and is not where it was prior to 2008.”
