Settle to focus on advancing the health IT boardroom agenda and navigating the health care IT vendor landscape
Robin Settle, a health care IT strategist with global management consultancy Kurt Salmon’s Health Care Group, has been selected as a 2015–2016 Guest Fellow by the Estes Park Institute.
With more than 25 years working in the health care sector, Settle is an industry specialist on health care information technology. She has directed significant client engagements in information technology planning, vendor selection and operational impact assessment for a wide range of organizations, including large community health systems, integrated delivery networks and academic medical centers. She also has a deep background in planning connected communities, working to foster health information exchanges between providers, payors and other stakeholders across the continuum of care. In her current role as a partner within Kurt Salmon’s health care IT practice, she plays an integral part in the practice’s vendor selection and planning and assessment services, which have been repeatedly recognized by KLAS, an independent research agency, in their Best in KLAS: Software and Services Report.
“With ever-evolving changes happening in the health care IT landscape, from balancing legacy products and new industry disrupters to the demand for more interoperability and telemedicine within a complex regulatory landscape, hospitals and their boards are facing myriad issues and options,” said Settle. “I’m thrilled to join the ranks of Guest Fellows and work with hospital and health system executives, along with their boards and medical staff leaders, to identify and implement the technologies best suited for improving the patient experience and clinical outcomes while reducing cost.”
For more than 40 years, the Estes Park Institute has provided educational conferences for leading hospitals and health system teams to help identify solutions for delivering unparalleled patient care and adapting to changing regulations, technologies and legislation. Since its inception, the institute has been committed to offering its world-class Fellows as a resource to those looking to answer the health care industry’s most pressing challenges.
“As one of our Guest Fellows, Robin joins a group of leaders from a wide range of disciplines—including medicine, business, law and public policy,” noted Steve Rivkin, chief executive officer at the Estes Park Institute. “We are delighted to have her on board and believe her expertise in health care IT will be a valuable addition to our knowledge bank.”
Settle will speak five times over the course of the next year at the institute’s conferences, held throughout the country. Her sessions, “Health Information Technology: Advancing the Agenda” and “EHR Vendor Marketplace: Which Stars Are Rising—And Which Are Falling,” will be available for attendees under the institute’s health care Technology Path.
