Alek Adamski has been appointed a partner at Kurt Salmon, to head its UK supply chain practice. An “end to end” supply chain practitioner, Alek’s 25 years’ experience includes five years at Kingfisher plc, where he was promoted to Vice-President, b2b development, and headed a team that delivered millions of pounds worth of cost savings in both goods for sale and non-sale, and a year as Supply Chain Director of Symington’s Ltd, the major food supplier.
His broad-based knowledge of the supply chain has also been gleaned from working with more than 30 retail and consumer goods companies – from supermarkets and fashion brands to drinks firms – much of that during his time as a director at Pricewaterhouse Cooper, where he led its supply chain practice, and Per ArduA Consulting, where he advised retail and consumer companies on replenishment operations, supply chain configuration and inventory management.
“Retailers and brands are now focusing on their supply chains from two angles: strategically to better manage their businesses in a multi-channel environment and also from a cost perspective to become more efficient and effective, so it is a very exciting time to be taking on this new role,” explains Alek.
