Consumer confidence shot up for the fourth straight month in September, likely signaling growth in restaurant spending heading into the holiday season, according to Kurt Salmon’s Restaurant Spending Trajectory.
“October and November should be strong for the industry,” said Kurt Salmon restaurant strategist Todd Hooper. “While beyond our current projections, December spending has been up more often than down in recent years. Increased trips could continue the industry momentum as consumers hit the streets for shopping and entertainment.”
