Restaurants are increasingly turning to special discounts and offers to lure customers back after a sales slump, according to a Reuters article. But Kurt Salmon restaurant strategist Todd Hooper said the slowdown may lift as the economy recovers. “Total U.S. restaurant spending in the last couple of months has been down a little bit. I think for the rest of the summer that’s going to remain to be the case,” he said in the article.
