Retail Leader

When retailers are looking to transform their organization, they must first think about the consumer. “The customer perspective is paramount, and that should be the first place a retailer looks,” said Isaac Krakovsky, a retail expert at Kurt Salmon.

But in order for change to be properly implemented, Krakovsky adds that active engagement from company executives is critical. “Often you’ll see the executive who is the sponsor behind the transformation project at the kickoff meeting and rallying the troops at the beginning, but then they don’t fully engage in the project along the way.” Executive engagement along the organization’s transformation journey can ensure that the right people are involved, the scope of the project is being managed and that the right decisions are being made.
