Sales growth slowed for retailers in April, who reported lower-than-expected same-store sales growth, according to a New York Times article. But not all is lost, says Kurt Salmon retail strategist Alison Jatlow Levy. “While projections were that consumer spending would continue to accelerate, there are signs that it may be slowing,” she said in the article. “The new consumer behavior is, ‘I spend in little splurges,’ or in peaks based on time of year.”
