Many retailers turned in better-than-expected August comps, according to a Wall Street Journal article. And while back-to-school was a big driver of the positive sales, it wasn’t the only reason customers headed to stores in August. “There was a desire for newness as adults looked to refresh their wardrobes,” said Kurt Salmon retail strategist Nancy Liu in the article.
