Walmart is facing a tougher back-to-school shopping season than many of its competitors, a recent Forbes article notes; mothers who were asked where they planned to stock up for the crucial shopping season put the retailing giant at the bottom of the list. But Kurt Salmon retail strategist Bruce Cohen doesn’t think Walmart should be worried because, as he points out, “Walmart’s turning more into grocery as opposed to solely a discretionary mass merchandiser. They’re gaining share in those categories.”
