ATLANTA--(March 24, 2014)--Kurt Salmon is pleased to announce that Chad Schaeffer, FACHE, has joined the Health Care Practice Group as senior manager of the Cancer Services Consulting Team. With over 20 years of experience including hospital administration, consulting, and leading an oncology service line for a university and a teaching hospital, Mr. Schaeffer will help care providers of all sizes develop and enhance their cancer programs.

“Chad’s background in business planning, physician-hospital alignment and quality improvement will help cancer programs develop their offerings and their roles within value-based clinically integrated networks,” said Farzan Bharucha, partner and director of Kurt Salmon’s Health Care Strategy Practice.

Mr. Schaeffer is board-certified in health care management. He has worked on over 200 projects and is a recognized expert in feasibility studies for cancer centers, strategic planning, organizational structure analysis, revenue cycle management and performance improvement. He has worked with providers across the care continuum, including private physicians, community hospitals and large academic medical institutions.

“Cancer centers and hospitals are trying to address increasingly complex issues within constantly-shifting contexts. From physician integration to increasingly stringent accreditation requirements and the rise of personalized medicine, delivering the best care at the best value is a moving target,” Schaeffer said. “These issues must be addressed comprehensively, and the Kurt Salmon cancer team is designed to do just that.”

Kurt Salmon’s Cancer Services Consulting Team is unique among oncology consultancies. As a unit within Kurt Salmon’s Health Care Group, the cancer team draws from a 70-person team of IT, operations, strategy and facilities experts, combining a deep functional insight with significant subject matter expertise in oncology. It is led by Ben Holland, who was brought on in the summer as national director of cancer services.
