If retailers are planning on having their stores stocked for the Christmas holiday, their goods need to be in the Los Angeles port--which handles 40% of U.S. imports--now and moving through, Frank Layo, a partner in Kurt Salmon’s Retail and Consumer Goods practice, told Marketplace. Layo warns that “any delays now are kind of critical. We’re running out of runway.”
