Global management consultancy Kurt Salmon is pleased to announce that Ron Wilson has joined the firm as a partner in its Retail and Consumer Goods Group and as a leader in its data analytics practice.

Mr. Wilson has 20 years of experience driving disruptive digital transformation in the consumer packaged goods industry. He has helped some of world’s largest CPG companies and brands take a holistic approach to gathering, analyzing and acting on big data insights, sometimes in counterintuitive ways, to reduce costs in the supply chain and drive sales at the point of purchase. Both a strategist and a designer and implementer of technology hardware, software and services, he has several patents pending for CPG technologies and services, including an Agile Data-Driven Enterprise Platform and a Trade Promotion Intelligence platform as a service.

“As retailers and brands globalize and optimize their omnichannel efforts, their analytics initiatives must become more holistic,” Wilson notes. “Kurt Salmon’s deep supply chain and merchandising roots, combined with their cutting-edge approaches to in-store and fulfillment technologies, perfectly position them to lead this end-to-end approach. Working together, we’re helping our clients create the right types of collaboration on all aspects of cloud, mobile and social, as well as redefining processes and business models for the future digital economy.”

Prior to Kurt Salmon, Mr. Wilson was a leader in the CPG practices of Tata Consultancy, Accenture, River Logic and other technology and consulting firms.

“The retail industry’s use of big data and predictive analytics is moving quickly beyond CRM and marketing initiatives. Our retail clients are asking for help in using applied analytics to reinvent the core legacy functions of product, placement, pricing and promotion,” said Al Sambar, leader of Kurt Salmon’s North American Retail and Consumer Goods Group. “Ron’s experience in data and applied analytics, coupled with our breadth and depth of strategy, process and organizational services, increases the value of Kurt Salmon as a strategic transformation partner for our retail clients.”

Mr. Wilson will be based out of Kurt Salmon’s New York office.
