KSA study supports need for a freestanding children’s hospital in San Antonio.
A KSA study, commissioned by the Texas University Health System (UHS), revealed that the major hospitals in the San Antonio area duplicate some costly pediatric programs. However, the study predicted the number of children in San Antonio and its surrounding health care market is expected to grow from 566,000 to 640,800 by 2020 and that hospital admissions will grow from 136 children a day to 166 during the same period.
